The duty to provide life insurance advice is a long-term one
Marie Callac, Managing Partner ofAstrée Avocats, is the author of an article for Lefebvre Dalloz | Editions Législatives.
In it, she analyzes the decree of June 12, 2024 (JO, June 16), which introduces a duty to provide advice over time, following new situations or transactions, and defines the frequency and conditions of this obligation.
This noteworthy decree puts an end to uncertainty for distributors of life insurance products regarding their obligations to update their duty to advise throughout the term of a life insurance contract taken out through their intermediary.
