Why Astrée?
In Greek mythology, Astra is the goddess of Justice.
The last to leave Earth when humanity strays from ethics, she embodies an ideal of rigor, clarity and balance.
This name is not an ornament: it says how we practice law. Demanding, but without dogmatism. Committed, but not unnecessarily showy. In our view, the law remains a tool for structuring, pacification and lucidity - even in our complex, regulated environments.
CSR
Astrée Avocats is not subject to the obligation to adopt an environmental charter, nor to the obligation to carry out a carbon assessment.
Nevertheless, it encourages its employees to adopt more sustainable and responsible ways of working, including :
- Limit the production of printed paper;
- Respect sorting rules;
- Whenever possible, limit travel by using videoconferencing software.
Excellence
Our team is constantly involved in professional training sessions, conferences and the writing of press articles and books.
These activities enable him to benefit from constantly updated knowledge of all the legal, social and economic issues facing our customers.
It is made up of lawyers and jurists with specific training and experience in insurance law.

Isabelle
Monin Lafin
In 1994, Isabelle Monin Lafin co-founded Montfort Monin Berthault, a Franco-British law firm with offices in London, Paris and Marseille, where she developed a business dedicated to the insurance industry. This experience reinforced her conviction that the law should be a driving force, not a hindrance.
In 2008, she set up Astrée to meet the specific needs of distribution professionals: agents, brokers, CIFs, mutual insurers, insurers, unions and manufacturers, whose constraints, urgencies and aspirations she understands.
When the ACPR was created, she designed the Classeur Astrée: an operational tool for managing compliance requirements. Now in its digital version, it remains a benchmark for brokers, insurers and distributors.
Isabelle Monin Lafin has been working in the insurance and distribution sector for over 30 years. After obtaining a post-graduate diploma (DEA) in general private law and a post-graduate diploma (DESS) in industrial property, she worked in a number of specialized law firms, including Dreyfus and Cammarata & Montfort.
It regularly runs training courses for senior executives, publishes reference works, takes part in conferences, and organizes an annual symposium on a topical issue. The 2024 edition, devoted to R.I.S., attracted over 200 participants, with speakers from the authorities, professional organizations and major companies in the sector.
Since 2004, she has also written the "Brokers" and "Intermediations" studies for the Dictionnaire permanent assurance.
In 2021, she will be appointed to the Comité Consultatif du Secteur Financier (CCSF), and in 2024 to the Observatoire des Produits d'Epargne Financière (OPEF).
Today, she heads up a tightly-knit team of lawyers and legal experts with whom she shares her vision: to get to the heart of the matter, to be responsive as well as rigorous, and to make the law a lever for project achievement.
